The Security Control Assessor (SCA) is responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls employed within or inherited by an Information System (IS) to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (i.e., the extent to which the controls are implemented correctly, operating as intended, and producing the desired outcome with respect to meeting the security requirements for the system). SCAs also provide an assessment of the severity of weaknesses or deficiencies discovered in the IS and its environment of operation and recommend corrective actions to address identified vulnerabilities. All Security Control Assessor II personnel should also possess the following skills and abilities: Data Security (Implement and Evaluate): The applicant is experienced with implementing and evaluating the application of the principles, policies, and procedures necessary to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, availability, and privacy of data in all forms of media (i.e., electronic and hardcopy) throughout the data life cycle. Applicant has detailed knowledge of: Risk Management Implementation Plans (RMIPs) data security policies, processes, and procedures. Established standards and guidelines. Security capabilities of the most prominent commercial operating systems Departmental/RMIP data security policies, processes, and procedures. Established standards and guidelines. Identifying sensitive, Sensitive Unclassified Information (SUI) and non-SUI information Applicant demonstrates practical experience: Analyzing implemented controls and evaluate their effectiveness and compliance with policy, standards, and guidelines Devising tests and procedures for use in Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) of individual systems Determining sensitive, non-SUI and SUI information protections Analyzing implemented controls and evaluate their effectiveness and compliance with policy, standards, and guidelines


Required Qualifications (this criteria will not be waived): o Minimum twelve (12) years of experience with cybersecurity or information assurance o Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related discipline o Certified in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M as an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III and Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Auditor o Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communications skills. o Strong analytical and problem solving skills o Candidates for this position must possess a valid Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph examination is required for this contract. Desired Qualifications: o Strong understanding of Joint Staff policies and procedures process o Knowledge of DoD Cyber Strategy and USCYBERCOM Mission o Prior experience working in a Joint military organizational structure (J1, J2, J3, etc.) o Understanding of working with classified materials, classification markings, and use of organizational classification guides
