Job Summary:
Our chosen candidate will support the development and manufacture of propellant, explosive and adhesive bondliner formulations for rocket motor and warhead programs.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Manage propellant production from subscale through production for assigned programs.
* Formulating existing and novel energetic and adhesive compositions.
* Proactively interact within cross-functional program teams, and interface with internal and external customers.
* Conduct statistical based analysis of physical and chemical technical data.
* Preform duties within industry specific regulations regarding safety, product and material requirements and plant operations.
* Responsible for assuring quality, cost effectiveness and timely completion of projects.
* Perform technical planning, cost estimation and general proposal support for new business pursuits.
* Conduct fundamental research and present papers at technical meetings.
* Continuously improve technical and business acumen to ultimately serve as a subject matter expert
Job Qualifications (Education/Skills/Experience):
MS or PhD in Chemistry with five (5) years related work experience in energetics, adhesives or other chemistry field preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Visio, and web-based organizational filing systems. Ability to utilize internal thermochemical analytical codes.
Ability to understand relevant chemistries including elements of polymer, organic, physical and inorganic. Ability to understand and interpret physical and chemical properties data.
Understanding of statistics related to Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Strong presentation, organizational and interpersonal skills. Clear written and oral communication skills.
Have demonstrated capability for independent work and creativity
Ability to work within a cross functional team and a dynamic environment.
High ethical standards of work and personal conduct.
Ability and willingness to work outside of standard work hours when needed to resolve issues.
The chosen candidate must be able to obtain BATF approval to work with our products. Ability to qualify for and, if necessary, obtain DoD security clearance.
